About Us:

SIERRA J. SULLIVAN "Founder, Editor & RAY Visionary" Growing up in my very own circle of women (my mother and 3 female siblings) I learned early on, the power that comes from having sisters to go through life with. I didn’t begin to understand until much later in life, how important staying connected to women really was in relation to staying connected to myself. As I moved out on my own and eventually to Los Angeles, the body image, media madness capital of the world, I found that who I was inside began to be challenged by a false sense of who I thought I needed to be. As I looked around at all the beautiful and seemingly "perfect" people, I started to feel like I was very different because I didn’t look like them. Thinking of myself as different started to create a separation from the rest of the world and for many years, I found myself falling into the trap that keeps women divided; defining my value by comparing myself to other women and the world around me. I began disconnecting more from my truth and found myself feeling powerless and out of touch with the amazing woman that I am. Even standing in line at the grocery store could crumple my self-esteem with the slightest glance at the covers of those so-called “women’s magazines". But, it was those magazines, tied with a strong inner desire to stop feeling bad about who I was that gave me a chance to do something positive with my self-esteem issues. Eventually, a little voice inside my head started to cry out about my need for a real women’s publication that would support our quest to embrace and feel good about our differences instead of letting them keep us apart. And that voice is what brought me to the creation of The RAY organization. Now, 4 years later, I am in awe of what has developed from that little voice inside my head. The RAY has grown from a tiny e-zine, to a hearty print publication with a circulation of 10,000+. Our community has grown into a vast and flourishing network of people who are aligning their lives, services, resources and talents to help support each other and spread awareness of the importance of self-love. With all of my heart and soul- I welcome you to this incredible journey of self-discovery that The RAY is here to give assistance to. My vision is to provide a safe place for you to connect to your deepest truth with no judgments as you walk your path in this world.
